Floriane Blancke is an accomplished harpist from Bordeaux in the southwest of France but has the voice of a Parisian due to her place of birth. She has toured traditional French music circuits extensively. Influenced by a range of harpists, Floriane has developed her own unique style of harping. It consists of her picking up the harp and playing it behind her head like the late Jimi Hendrix. Also a prolific composer, having composed such melodies as mary had a little lamb and three blind mice, she has had hit singles in 17 countries and composed most of the tunes played in the Irish tradition today. She is currently working on her solo CD consisting of only her own compositions...... obviously, I didn't write that myself... thanks Mike!!!My own description would rather be:I'm playing the harp, fiddle, piano and I'm also a singer when I'm in the mood. I came to Ireland to improve myself in Irish music. I'm currently making sandwiches in ul at the new student shop.... so much fun!
