Andres Rodriguez

I’m from the small Central American country of Costa Rica. I loved the guitar since I was very young and wanted to be able to play that beautiful instrument. At the age of twelve, I began playing for God in a Christian Church. At first, I didn’t have a music teacher to teach me how to play, but my desire to play was so great that I started by myself. I spent hours listening to other musicians and figuring out how to imitate what they did. When I was a teenager, I started playing the electric guitar in a band with some friends. Later, I had the opportunity to enroll in the Music Program of the Universidad de Costa Rica, where I learned classical guitar. My passion, however, and the music that has always inspired me is Jazz and World Music. Eventually my friend César Rodríguez and I formed a duet to play professionally and began recording our own compositions. At the end of 2004 we decided to pursue solo careers.Memories is my first solo album. It’s a project focused on evoking memories, inspiring peace, and offering tribute to the One who made this all possible: God. The faith I have in Him is what has made it possible to turn my dreams into reality.
