Ravissa witnessed the early Austrian techno movement (1993) initiated by the spiral tribes (todays left over: conspiracy) at the age of 13. Just a taste of lawless electronic speed - shared equipment, hardcore beats, tireless dancers, strobes and cheap coloured lights- was enough to wake her senses and get fully involved with minimal grooves.
Ravissa primarily presented her record-mixing talent at psychedelic events (1996); subsequently she transferred her emphasis to reduced beats and melodies. What started off with acid-trance-techno grew to a stage of smartly combined dj-sets of drum’n’bass, minimal techno, detroit house, ghetto bass and electro (2000).
It is her reckless attitude towards the standard codex sticking either to techno, house or drum’n’bass that has gained her recognition in the overloaded world of electronics.
Ravissa has lately shifted her focus to UK Garage where she is now blazing the trail for the upcoming Viennese grime scene.
Apart from her musical work Ravissa has extended her range of interests throughout the years. Namely in cooperation with k:rho, she initiated the netlabel doorbitch (based on an independent network of sound an
design production, embedded in a both social and technological context); she further gives dj-ing workshops and teaches digital audio at various institutions.
Unfortunately Ravissa..s current musical public performance is reduced because she Ãs investing time at studios developing her own electronic-style. Her latest release is to be heard on open:sounds vienna presented by female pressure. [info 2006]
