Clear the Dancefloor - The 12 Bar - 09 Feb 2006 - With the Uncomfortables..
It was Evident that these bands already have a well established fan base and when Red Sunday kicked off, i began to see why. The band combines the mournful strains of the front man Tom Robinson's vocals with some very catchy riffs, leading to a beautiful blend worthy of the 'Indie Rock' title they give themselves. Songs like 'She's Amazin' with its intense bass and 'Double Vision' with its fascinating riff really show the skills of this band. You can defintely hear their influences (such as The Killers and the Arctic Monkeys) shine through on some of the tunes.
But , all in all - this four piece have taken the Indie style and made it their own. The crowd loved it as much as i did. Indeed, i haven't seen a crowd so close to the stage in a very long time

LEP Battle of the Bands 1st Round - The Venue- 22nd April 2006
Indie-rock Red Sunday went above and beyond their usual enthusiastic self and came out looking all the better for it. This was a young band coming out with attitude and focus, with more than a healthy hint of Hard-Fi in foot-tapping melodic rock stompers. Mic-behaviour with nods to Mssrs Gallagher and Barât, guitar licking riffs not too far removed from Stone Roses or recent Artic Monkeys songs, and a bucket full of swagger - it still may be a set taken heavily from their youthful influences but for the first time they appear much more confident as themselves. Growing up and getting strong, this could be the making of them

RED SUNDAY are itching to get started, a late start and lapses between Jahooli’s songs coupled with the shit with drums has made them miss their last train home to Preston. Dedicated to the cause they plan other arrangements and stick around. The show must go on!
Once again Mr. B makes the introduction and they take to the stage clutching a beer soaked set list. It’s a real treat as they start to play, their musicianship is instantly acknowledged as their peers in the audience turn to one another uttering ‘these are good’ and bob their heads with approval. Most noticeable is the vocal delivery. This singer knows how to use a mic. He belts out the lyrics like a prescription for my ears, I like them.
Red Sunday were also supposed to feature on the bill at The Courtyard Campaign but couldn’t make it (fucking Leeds!) they would surely have gone down a storm on either stage. Drummer ‘Kyle’ is like a machine and hasn’t skipped a beat yet as front-man ‘Tom’ delivers his self-penned catchy vocals. Guitars are sublime – spraying out shards of electronic delight, bass-lines please the audience like firm D-cups pounded before them. Just like Jahooli they serve up a couple of covers, which please the pissheads (that have snook in) even more, more than ‘sweaty’ kebab meat. Everyone seems to be enjoying the well rounded set when my favourite track ‘She’s Amazin’ is issued, which must be a favourite of the General’s as he swoons spilling beer without an after thought.
We get introduced to some new tracks, which get an airing for the first time, I miss their names as ‘Montana’ fills my ears with praise for the out of town debutants, who surely must be welcomed back soon
