Trio ELEGIAQUE
The piano trio Trio ELEGIAQUE was founded in summer 2001. The Trio is the winner of the 1st prize at the prestigious International Chamber Music Competition "Gaetano Zinetti" in 2007 in Italy. At the same competition, the Trio received the special prize of a CD recording. Previously, the ensemble was awarded with prizes including the “Support Prize of the Orpheus-Concerts 2002†and the “Special Prize of the Jury†at the Géraldine Whittaker Competition 2002 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The Trio is also a prize holder at the Migros Chamber Music-Competition in 2003 and 2007 in Switzerland.
One year after its founding the Trio was invited to a live concert broadcasted by the “Radio Suisse Romandeâ€. In summer 2003, the ensemble had a successful tour in cooperation with “Pro Helvetia†through Finland, Estonia, Poland, and Slovakia. At the end of 2004, the ensemble recorded trios of Rachmaninov, Shostakovitsch and Shchedrin for Radio DRS 2 in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2004 the Trio was distinguished for the best Live Radio Recording in Estonia of 2003. Trio ELEGIAQUE belongs to the selected ensembles of the “Menuhin Live Music Now†Foundation. Currently, the Trio is performing in Switzerland and abroad.
Trio ELEGIAQUE has worked with artists such as Rudolf Barshai, Zakhar Bron, Hatto Beyerle, Krystian Zimerman, Gérard Wyss and Adrian Oetiker. The Trio is continuing its education in the chamber music class of Gérard Wyss at the Music Academy in Basel, Switzerland.
Trio ELEGIAQUE (deutsch)
Das Klaviertrio ELEGIAQUE wurde im Sommer 2001 gegründet. Das Ensemble ist 1. Preisträger am renommierten Internationalen Kammermusik-Wettbewerbs "Gaetano Zinetti" im Jahre 2007 in Verona (Italien). Zusätzlich zum 1. Preis wird dem Trio als Spezialpreis eine CD-Produktion ermöglicht. Das Trio ELEGIAQUE wurde mit Preisen wie dem „Förderpreis Orpheus-Konzerte 2002“ und dem „Prix spécial du jury“ am Concours Prix Géraldine Whittaker 2002 in Neuchâtel ausgezeichnet. Es ist zudem Preisträger des Migros Kammermusik-Wettbewerbs 2003. An demselben Wettbewerb wurde dem Ensemble im Jahre 2007 eine Anerkennung zugesprochen. Zehn Monate nach dessen Gründung wurde das Trio bereits zu einem Konzert mit Direktausstrahlung bei Radio Suisse Romande eingeladen.
Im Sommer 2003 trat das Ensemble eine erfolgreiche Tournee in Zusammenarbeit mit Pro Helvetia durch Finnland, Estland, Polen und die Slowakei an. Ende 2004 nahm das Ensemble drei Trios von Rachmaninov, Schostakowitsch und Shchedrin für Radio DRS 2 in Zürich auf und wurde im Jahre 2004 für die beste Live-Rundfunkaufnahme des Jahres 2003 in Estland ausgezeichnet. Das Trio gehört zu den durch die "Stiftung Menuhin Live Music Now" ausgewählten Kammermusik-Ensembles.
Das Trio ELEGIAQUE hat mit Künstlern wie Rudolf Barshai, Zakhar Bron, Hatto Beyerle, Krystian Zimerman, Gérard Wyss und Adrian Oetiker gearbeitet. Dank Konzerten im In- und Ausland ist das Trio an Erfahrung und Repertoire bereichert worden. Das Trio studiert zurzeit in der Kammermusikklasse von Gérard Wyss an der Hochschule für Musik in Basel.
Joanna Stanek
Joanna Stanek was born in Opole, Poland. She started playing piano at the age of 7 and attended Music Schools in her hometown of Opole. At the age of 18 she had her philharmonic debut with the Symphony Orchestra of Opole. From 1998 to 2003 she studied at the Frédéric Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw in the piano class of Bronislawa Kawalla and Edward Wolanin, and in the chamber music class of Maja Nosowska. She continued her education in the concert-class of Adrian Oetiker at the Music Academy in Basel, from which she graduated in 2006 with the concert and teaching diplomas. Joanna Stanek received many prizes at different competitions in Poland, such as the 1st prize in Wodzislaw Slaski and the 2nd prize in Katowice. Joanna has been awarded various scholarships, such as of the Mayor of the city of Opole, the Minister of Culture in Warsaw, and the Federal Scholarship for young artists in Switzerland. She took part in master classes in Poland, Austria, England, and Switzerland. She worked with Rudolf Buchbinder, Tomasz Herbut, Hans-Peter Stenzl, Andrzej Jasinski, Barbara Hesse-Bukowska and Alexei Lubimov. In 2005 she won the competition at the Music Academy to perform at the Stadtcasino Basel, playing the 3rd Piano Concerto of Béla Bartók with the Symphony Orchestra of Basel. She gave numerous solo and chamber music concerts in Poland, England, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Lech Antonio Uszynski
Lech Antonio Uszynski was born in 1986 in Padova (Italy) as a son of Polish musician family. At the age of 6 he received first violin lessons from his father. Later he studied with Ana Chumachenco. In February 2007 he graduated from the Music Academy in Zurich with the concert diploma, with distinction. At present he continues at the same school in the soloist diploma class of the famous Russian music pedagogue Zakhar Bron. Since the age of 13 he also plays a viola. In 2000 he played as a viola soloist with the Aukso Chamber Orchestra. In 1998 and 2001 he played at the Jecklin Music Meeting in the final concert in the Tonhalle Zurich. In 1999 he was recognized as a double winner – in violin and viola – at the Swiss Youth Music Competition in Zurich. Lech’s successes are not only with solo performances but also with chamber music, which he has been interested in since his youth. In 2000 he won the 1st prize with distinction at the International Chamber Music Competition in Varenna (Italy). Further prizes followed at Chamber Music Competitions in Holland and Switzerland, and include also a support prize of the Fritz Gerber Foundation. Lech regularly takes part in various master classes. As a violinist and violist he frequently gives solo and chamber music concerts in Switzerland and abroad. He plays a viola of Paolo Maggini of Brescia.
Sebastian Uszynski
Sebastian Uszynski, the older brother of Lech, was born in 1980 in Poland. He started playing the cello in 1987 with Jean-Paul Guéneux. At the age of only 14 years he was admitted as a young student in the master class of Antonio Meneses at the Music Academy in Basel. Subsequently, he studied with Victoria Jagling and Arto Noras at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, and at the Music Academy of Basel with Ivan Monighetti. He regularly takes part in master classes with David Geringas, Daniel Shafran and Gary Hofman. Sebastian won various competitions and prizes including the 1st prize at the Swiss Youth Music Competition in Zurich or the 1st prize at the International Antonio Janigro Cello Competition in Zagreb, Croatia. He also received the support prize for Young Talent from the City of Basel and the study prize of the Migros Genossenschaftsbund and the Fritz Gerber Foundation. His participation in various orchestra projects enabled him to work with conductors such as Sir Collin Davies, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Okko Kamu, Leif Segerstam and Mikko Franck. He was appointed the first solo cellist at the Young German Philharmonic Orchestra for the recording of and a tournee with the new version of the Gustav Mahler 10th Symphony. Sebastian regularly performs as a soloist in chamber music and symphony orchestra concerts. Additionally, he teaches a cello class at the Music School of Davos, Switzerland He plays a cello of J.B. Vuillaume of Paris.
