I have been selected to exhibit my work as part of the 2007 Cambridge Art Association's National Prize show, jurored by Thomas W. Lentz - Director, Harvard Art Museums. Previous shows of note include multiple group exhibitions in New York City's Chelsea district in 2003 - each jurored by powerful art-world professionals such as Janet Koplos (Senior Editor - Art in America Magazine) and Robert Rosenblum (Curator - NYC Guggenheim Museum). My work was also been selected for/exhibited in the 2004, 2005 and 2007 International Society of Acrylic Painters international shows. I look forward to continuting to exhibit my work on the local, national and international levels.
I have beautiful, reasonably priced, framable notecards - featuring images of my artwork - available for sale. Contact me at [email protected] for further details.
Some comments about my work:
"When I rounded the corner and saw this one [“Life Force”], I knew I had to acknowledge it in some way. It is so brilliant, and the texture just begs to be touched. ... some of the colors are just so rich, like velvet, they ask to be caressed. I just wanted to run my hands over it.” - Julie Anne Poncet, Assistant Curator, Portland Art Museum.
“That’s fantastic!” - John Taylor, bassist for Duran Duran, commenting on “Morning Glory".
“Your artwork is beautiful! You are extremely talented. When I look at your work it makes me feel soothed.” – Sandra Sharp-Meekums, Owner, Emerge Medical Spa, Portland, OR.
My art can be found in the collections of Clark College, Young Audiences of Oregon and SW Washington, and private collections across the United States as well as the United Kingdom. I show locally (in the Portland Metropolitan Area) and abroad. If you would like to know about upcoming shows, feel free to ask to be added as a friend, and subscribe to my blog. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] as well, I would love to hear from you!
PERSONAL:
Your Life Path Number is 8
Your purpose in life is to help others succeed
You are both a natural leader and a natural success. You are also a great judge of character.
You have a head for business and finance. You know how to make money.
A great visionary, you can see gold where other people see nothing.
In love, you are very generous - with gifts, time, and guidance.
You love to inspire people, but it can be frustrating when they don't understand your vision.
Great success comes easily for you.
You are confident, and sometimes this confidence borders on arrogance. What Is Your Life Path Number?
Music is a huge inspiration. I thrive on it to create.

My Interests

Art, music, art, music, art art art and music! Oh, other interests? Learning, inquiry, growing, others who are interested in the same. Helping people - with a leg up, a smile, or any other way that comes to mind. Growing my business. Contributing to planetary caretaking (the Earth, that is!). Vacation: Warm, clean, deserted beaches with cool breezes and a beverage to match - or experiencing new cultures - or better yet, both! If you'd like a closer look at the images in the slideshow, click on "Pics" under the statonary image above.

I'd like to meet:

My favorite musicians, particularly if they are interested in using my work for a CD. ;o)
Artists who are serious about their art and treat it like a business.
YOU, if you are: Kind. Compassionate. Caring. Thoughtful. If you: Like to have a great time and be goofy, yet are willing to sit down and have serious conversations. If you: Think of others. Like to explore things that are important to you. Are interested in sharing what you feel deeply/passionately about. Live LIFE passionately!!! Have similar interest to me, but are not a photocopy of myself. Say what you mean and are honest. I am not interested in meeting "yes men (or women)". I like to know what you are really thinking and feeling ... as long as there is a compassionate component to it. Honesty without cutting others to ribbons. (Yes, that is completely possible.)
If you are an art lover that is a bonus ... I love sharing that part of my life with others.
I'd also like to meet six year old Connie Talbot. She's brilliant! If you have a moment please, watch the video taken from the final round of Britain's Got Talent. Its absolutely inspiring. (Just remember to hit the "pause" button on the music player located on the left of the screen first so you can hear her without distractions.)
Please feel free to leave me a text or voice comment below. Please note that anything that is not appropriate for all ages (for example, vugarity or bad language) and/or spamming will be removed ASAP. All other comments welcome!

Music:

Duran Duran, James Angell, Bel Canto, Nik Kershaw, Steely Dan, the Dandy Warhols ("Welcome to the Monkeyhouse"), Royksopp (Melody A.M.), Lisa Loeb, Japan, David Sylvian, Elton John (though mostly his work in the '70s) ... plus a very long list of varied and eclectic artists. Bauhaus, Roxy Music, Tangerine Dream, Massive Attack ... complexity and intensity fascinate me!

Movies:

Amelie was really a good one.

Television:

I don't watch much right now.

Books:

"1984" - George Orwell, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" - Johnathan Safran Froer (thanks, Shelley!), "The Odyssy" - Homer

Heroes:

I don't think anyone needs to be put on a pedestal. We are all human, no matter what our circumstances or achievements.
Having said that ... I admire what some people are up to in the world/appreciate their commitment to making a difference. Examples of these are Oprah, Ann and Dave Peterson (ask me sometime!) ... anyone who takes good care of themselves and spreads their abundance to others.
