Welcome!
First some info on the pieces you can hear:
Ripe when yields to gentle pressure
This what you can hear is the mayor part of an electroacustical piece of mine, first presented at Dunkers Kulturhus in 2003.
Split
- is a part of a 90 minutes composition of mine, for voices, saxophones, zithers, harp, percussion and electronics. The piece is the music for a modern theatre/performance/dance production called die Lorelay and it’s a site-specific collaboration with the international performancetheatre group Cantabile 2.
Die Lorelay was first performed on the river rhein (yes, on the river itself..) by the Lorelay-cliff at St. Goarshausen (se picture) in 2000, and later on the World EXPO in Hannover that same year. The performance has also toured in a much appreciated indoor version with a specially constracted water-stage.
Musicians and co-creatives in the original version and on the album are; Jeanette Sollén, Helle Mörch, Jonny Wartel and Ray Adams.
Waterfalls
-is another piece from Die Lorelay.
Astro
This is a part of a 20 minutes long hymn for choir and zithers. It was first performed by, and written to, the choir Fellicitas in 1997. The piece is using the original text in ancient greek by the poet Romanos (6th century). Conductor Per Nyrén.
Now, these pieces are some different fragments of my music (and I will try to change them from time to time...) that probably indicates my wideness when composing/performing.
In the centre there is an interest for the voice.
Then there’s the curiosity for sounds, rhythms and harmonies. I’ve written about 10 contemporary musical/dramatic larger pieces for stage (almost only outdoor site-specifics), but I ’ve also written some chamber music, music for choirs, and experimental electro acustic pieces - almost always using voices and zithers as main material (my favourite instrument, I have a lot of them...).
Apart from my own productions I’ve also collaborated with contemporary theatres, dance companies and such alike.
I’ve performed in different groups over time, from new wave/punk/avant-garde to flamenco, to jazz, to world music, to experimental music.
For the moment I’m composing music and directing a new site-specific to be presented in august 2008. This will be a piece for choir and electronica/EA music.
I have also decided to start focusing more on my electroacustic music and I would like to produce a new album cetered around voices and zithers as soon as possible...
Besides my musical work and studies I’ve also studied performance art, physical theatre, dance and religion. My CV is found as a blog...
The pictures I use to present my music are: The Ship, a painting by Salvadore Dali and photos by C. Block from the performance die Loreley.
