Henrik has had commissions for the the American New Juilliard Ensemble, the Dutch Niew Ensemble and the Norweigan Cikada. He has collaborated with excellent Swedish soloists, ensembles and orchestras. His music has been performed at the important Nordic festivals and sometimes at other international festivals. MoMA's "Summergarden 2006" series of concerts opened with "Cut Sections. Time Freezes". Henrik's cd "Within Trees" was selected "Record of the year" by three of the leading newspapers in Sweden 2004.
Born in 1954 in Kalmar, Sweden. As a young man in the seventies Henrik was a multi-instrumentalist and played in a group called Ragnarök . They were part of the Swedish "Progressive Music Movement". Ragnarök's first album was released twenty years later in South Korea and today Ragnarök has a new and young audience.
Henrik studied composition at the Royal University College of Music in Stockholm with Gunnar Bucht, Sven-David Sandström and the visiting professor Brian Ferneyhough 1980-87 and attended a summer course with Iannis Xenakis in Delphi 1985. Ten years later he studied at Ircam in Paris doing the Stage d'informatique.
Henrik is teaching composition at the Gotland School of Music Composition . Ever since he was young he has been actively engaged in cultural politics and has been a member of the board at the Society of Swedish Composers, the Swedish Performing Rights Society and the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
