Hello! I'm not one to waffle on bigging myself up, painting some kind of picture that isn't true and making myself sound like some kinda superstar, so intead I'm gonna paint a little picture of how My Muiscal journey began and how it's turning out.For as far back as I remember, I have always loved listening and playing Instruments. Wherever I was, I would always stop dead in my tracks and absorb music that was playing, in the house, in the car, anywhere I was, and was always looking for something to tap or twang.
When I started school at aged 4, the only lessons I can remember having where music classes, and always remember the teacher being really encouraging.I think due to the fact that I had ruined all my mums biscuit tins by using them as drums, nicked the broom to tie string to for a guitar and looking for my next conversion, My mum and dad brought me my first instrument.
This is not very rock and roll, but I joined the school Orchestra.
We then moved and I kinda drifted away a little bit until about aged 11, when I was listening to the radio, and Purple Haze came on. I was stuck in a complete trance for the duration of the track, and from that moment, I knew exactly what I was born to do, play a guitar. I didn't care about how good or bad I was, I just wanted rhytmn flowing through me. I still feel the same to this day, It's always been for my own enjoyment.I joined a rock band when I was about 14/15 and was very lucky to play alongside 2 far superior musicians, A guitarist who was born with a gibson in his hands, and an incredible drummer who had already played with some great local musicans. I think that time, some lessons would have been nice but not having much cash it has never happened. Not being able to read music, I had always played by ear and still do, I thought that the best thing to do was to study other guitarists and ask anyone better (which was most of them!) for advise, again, still a method adopted today.I started doing pub gigs at about 20, but the band broke up after 2 years so, I decided to put my guitar down, and it stayed down for 8 years, deciding to dedicate my time for my 2 children. After an 8 year brake, I was asked by a friend, and also a true genius at his cratf * Aaron Hall - Drummer * if I would maybe fancy getting into a band with him, so I originaly planned to step in until he found a guitarist of a higher standard, but have ended up staying and am having the time of my life.I am currently very lucky by getting to play with some amazing musicians, who are a league above anyone I thought I would ever play with, and have fallen In love with music all over again, I feel very humbled and lucky to have refound a missing part of me, and still cant believe how quickly things are moving.
I thought my days of gigging were well and truely over, and it was a fond childhood memory, but now I am living it again, I feel like a have a second chance...............If you love something, dont let it go, hold on to it and rewards will come, I go to bed every night with a smile on my face and that counts for so much in life.Take Care,
