Blakk Ice aka Cranston Phillips was born 04.03.1978 in Portland, Jamaica.
As a creativ and dynamic Raggae/Dancehall artists he found his roots of music soon. As a young "bwoy" he was inspired by the music of Sizzla, Cocoa Tea, Luciano, Beres Hammond, Garnett Silk, Anthony B, Buju & Buru Banton, Bounty Killer, Ninjaman, Capleton and many, many more. He often dreamed of making Dubplate for soundsystems like "Stone Love, King Addis, Killamanjaro or Bass Odeesey. These Inspirations motivated him to follow his dream of making music that keeps the crowd alive and leaves a hot blazing trail behind him wherever he performs. His first moves with music was with different soundsystems out of his yard in Kingston where he became contacts to artists like Luciano, Nity Kutchy, Buju Banton, Bushman and many more.
One of Blakk Ice first releases was a feature tune and video clip with The Messenger Luciano and this track was dedicadet to all Mothers who care good for their children.The Dancehall-scene in Jamaica didn´t have to wate long for the next Boom-Tune, so he released fast the hit include the video "cant get enough" feat. Nitty-Kutchie.
Espeacially the solo track of Blakk Ice "nah sell out" and "wha dat" will hit like a bomb the whole Dancehall-comunity.
His on stage performance at inculde worldwide events like "BEES EXPLSION in 2003, STING 2004, CHAMPIONS IN ACTION and REBEL SALUTE 2004 where Luciano shouted him on Stage to be right in the Track 'love for mama'" and many more well-known Stage Shows. Ice performance at these events proved to the crowd and ather Artist that had raw talent sought to work collaborate with him on various projects. Therefore he got a lot of positive reactions, in spite of the choosy Festival posse. In 2005 he collabrated with Sasha and recorded another single titled "Heartbreaker".
Thenceforwards Blakk Ice began to take part in the international Dancehall scene, so he came to Amsterdam, Switzerland and Geramny where he made some shows with local Soundsystems in 2006. Because of the satisfaction of the people it was sure that Blakk Ice will come back to Germany to leave a good impression.
