Lenka Župková

Lenka Župková born in Praque,has studied violin at the Janacek Academy for Music in Brno (Czech Republic) and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. In addition she read musicology in Brno . From 1995-2000 she has worked for NDR orchestra Hannover, Neue Ensemble Köln and L`Arco Hannover. As violin soloist, on electric violin and on viola she works with flautist Lenka Kozderkova as Duo Goelan, with sound engineer Andre Bartetzki, with the dancer Ursula Wagner in Transito. She created and performed theatre music for the theatres of Zurich, Nürnberg, Hanover and Aachen. Lenka Župková is inspired in her work by classical and contemporary music, live electronics, jazz, Czech folk music and improvisation in performances. She seeks to explore the integration of music, theatre, literature visual art and dance. She has done various recordings for CD and broadcast.
