About Me

..Huffy is Ian Hough -Singer/songwriter/bass player/guitaristLives in Leamington Spa England originally from BirminghamAfter 25 years of playing bass in various indie style bands Huffy has switched to guitar and vocals to perform his own songs - in true punk fashion the guitar ability is limited and the vocal ability is limited and there is no desire to make money or become a “star” but the song writing talent shines through despite those obstacles - Huffy says “its time to do it whatever anyone else thinks “.Influences are many and varied - Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Smiths , Stranglers, Clash, Daniel Johnston, Malcolm Middleton, Housemartins, Patti Smith, Teenage Fanclub, Christy Moore, Shane Macgowan, The Stooges, The Minutemen and loads more………..Is Huffy having a middle-aged crisis ? Maybe but who cares - the Punk generation still has a voice. The Lost Robots E.P.Huffy went into the studio hoping to record and mix an album in 2 hours - the result is the Lost Robots EP (Huffy decided an album should be at least 30 minutes long - that his now his next project - so it became an EP created in 90 minutes). On the EP “Albert Jenkins” is from Stone Cross in West Bromwich, born and died in the family council house only leaving Stone Cross once a fortnight to sign on (Stone Cross is very self-contained with its own Bingo Hall). “Real Blind Love” is a true love song (Huffy couldn’t afford a female singer for the 2nd verse). “ALIVE” shouts every action has a reason and is life affirming on some level. “The Great Fire of Brighton” was a dream (in the actual dream the bubble-car was driven by Huffy’s boss and was crushed by a falling tree). “I Hate You” is the good old catholic boys guilt complex. “It Was the Summer” is set in 1976 when gypsy’s moved into the field by Huffy’s house and there seemed to be a fire every day. “Elephant’s Graveyard” moves at a steady pace to its inevitable conclusion. “About You” is about someone who Huffy has mixed himself up with.If you want a copy of all eight songs Email Huffy at Myspace for details.Latest project in production with Nemesis Media is an animated video for Albert Jenkins to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world early in 2008 - look out for launch party details and tour - all arranged by Huffy - DIY is punk and nothing to do with boring Sundays in suburbia - people need to get back the attitude that they can make things happen - also look out for the album - recording in November from 30 new songs to choose from - can he do it in 90 minutes !Masthead Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com!
