Some say they are controlled by the powers of darkness, live on a diet of red bull, coffee and cigarettes and only sleep on a tuesday.
Others say they will play anywhere for a fiver and have even played at the legendary CBGBs in New York and Scum in the Netherlands.
Some say they were approached, by an American management company and offered to tour in the UK with Marky Ramone, while shopping at Lidl.
Others say they have had more drummers than hot dinners, a self belief that borders on the delusional and that they are certainly old enough to know better.
All we know is they are THE MISPELT and they are the loudest, dirtiest, kick-ass, punk rock and roll band this side of the A14!
