INSANE SOCIETY

Insane Society is a band that has been around for some time in a variety of forms. The present line-up has been playing and recording together since 2006. Original members, Sheldon (mouth) and Wag (guitar), had some demos and casually bumped into Steve Dangerous in a pub. (He was bigger than us and we couldn't get out of his way quick enough). He agreed to help out on drums. We soon imported Stefan Minszko (via Poland, Wales and Tunbridge Wells) on bass and Insane Society was re-born. As we all had previous experience in Punk bands since 1977 it was quite easy to get a set of songs that reflected our musical influences. Within a couple of months we had written 20 tunes, 15 of which eventually appeared on our debut CD entitled "Upside Down" which was released in August 2007.The music recaptures the spirit of the early punk years in a collection of original songs inspired by the things that concern, annoy and amuse us in an insane society. The songs are essentially about life for ordinary blokes in England today and the issues and events which impact on our lives from the immediate (Evicted, Fat Chick, Upside Down) to the global (Made In China, Send In The Troops, Termination Day).After gigging up and down the country (including Wales!) we have built up a growing fanbase, particularly on the south coast. We believe that REAL punk is just as relevant today as it was in 1977.
