You might think I'm trying to convert you or something,
but we don't try to convert people in my tradition. I just want
to share with you a couple of things that I think everyone
should know or at least be exposed to. Your consciousness
is created in the image of The Great Creator, call him or
her whatever, Krisna, Divine Mother, Yahweh, I AM or
something. You are made of Godstuff, you are part of God
already without having to ask for him to come into your
life. God took a part of himself and put it down here
and that is you. You possess the qualities of God, you
are at the core of your being immortal, indestructible,
joyful, compassionate, peaceful and intelligent. Meditation
is just a tool we use to shut off the mundane for awhile and
discover what we are at our core. The many benefits of
meditation are well documented and belief in God is not
even a requirement. And the person closest to you is
made of the same Godstuff, so even though the persons
we are close to tend to get on our nerves we must
remember, that's God sitting there. When we see an
Iraqi father in tears holding the broken body of his daughter
after a bombing, that's God standing there in great pain.
Whatever you have done to the least of these my brethren
that you have also done to me. And then there are the
animals, also part of God, made of Godstuff, made of
God's consciousness, and then there is the Earth itself,
alive...

The "Patriot Act" is not what American patriots have fought and died for. To allow our Bill of Rights to be nullified without judicial supervision invites tyranny.
Just as our founders understood the need for separation of church and state, we need to institutionalize the separation of corporations and the state. This begins with government taking the responsibility to establish the conditions under which corporations may do business in the US, including the establishment of a federal corporate charter which describes corporate rights and responsibilities.
The American people made it very clear in November that they want a new direction in Iraq, and that direction is out. That's why I've introduced House Resolution 1234, which is a plan to end the war in Iraq, bring our troops home, and stabilize Iraq.
To repair the earth, America must lead. We must reverse course on most Bush Administration policies and support the Kyoto Treaty that Bush rejected. We must strengthen environmental laws and increase penalties on polluters. We should provide tax and other incentives to businesses that conserve energy, retrofit pollution prevention technologies, and redesign toxins out of their manufacturing processes.
Unfortunately, current drug policy fails to take into account the lessons of Prohibition. The law regards all users as abusers, and the result has been the creation of an unnecessary class of lawbreakers. According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report, more than 734,000 individuals were arrested on marijuana charges in 2000. This number far exceeds the total number of arrestees for all violent crimes combined, including murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Eighty-eight percent of those arrested were charged with possession only.
