Popa Chubby Plays The Brook This Tuesday, Be There

About Me

"Somethin Else" have been rocking Hampshire for Five years, and now, with a new lead guitarist and rhythm section, are fast making their mark further afield.
Lead singer Simon Andrews, sax player Dave Vear and guitarist/backing vocalist Andy Marsh have been joined by Strat-man Gary Goodchild, drummer Steven Ball and bass player/backing vocalist Mick Heatley. The objective, to get the audience up and rocking, remains the same - and judging by the music sampled here, it works!INTRODUCING"SOMETHIN ELSE"NOT HAMPSHIRE’S AVERAGE BLUES/ROCK COVERS BAND• Many bands invite you to admire their musical skills – "Somethin Else" want you to go home having played your part in a great night out. So what makes them different?• The band's repertoire ranges from 50s to the present, Aerosmith to Wilson Pickett, Rolling Stones to Madness. The combination of a regular rock band line-up with saxophone and harmonica adds variety to the sound, while didgeridoo offers an unique change of pace on the much requested Sun Arise.• "Somethin Else" is a band for all occasions. In the first half of 2007, they will have played at: A wedding, a masked ball, an outdoor village festival, several birthday parties, a stag night, a leaving party, a football club, an RAF base and several pubs/social clubs. Why not consider them for your venue/event?• "Somethin Else" has around 50 songs at their disposal, allowing sets to be tailored to the event or the mood. Soul, pop, rock’n’roll, ballads and more.• The six members of the band range in age from 20s to 50s, and can cater for all tastes and musical preferences. We play anywhere in Hampshire and neighbouring counties.• The music on our demo CD (available on request) contains extracts from recent "Somethin Else" performances with the current line-up, captured like all our gigs on a portable minidisc player. While not of hi-fi quality, this is supplied to give an idea of playing ability and competence. You may also get a taste of the audience participation we encourage! We also have video available on our MySpace page (see below).• Unlike tribute bands, "Somethin Else" don’t aim to slavishly recreate the original but play classic songs with a zest and verve that’s all too sadly lacking in other bands. Personality is a priority, and that’s why we are repeat booked on many occasions. To book "Somethin’ Else" , contact Simon Andrews [email protected] "Somethin Else" on the web: www.myspace.com/thesomethinelse
