New and Used Records

New and Used Records is a Bay Area-based label dedicated to releasing innovative and exciting new music. In addition to supporting the indie rock community, N&UR seeks to foster a space for discussion regarding the current state of the music business, as well as the arts and pop culture. This is achieved through our blogs, as well as new podcasts and streaming videos that we will be introducing throughout the year.
On January 1, 2006, New and Used Records launched as a music and pop culture blog. Since that day, it has continued to grow - incorporating a video podcast spotlighting indie acts (including the Boy Least Likely To, the Little Ones, and Howlin Rain). The record label was born in 2007, with our first release - God's Boat by the Passionistas hitting stores on June 5, 2007. Leading up to the release of God's Boat, N&UR founder Will Benham documented the band for a six-part video series , an indication of the label's continued interest in utilizing different mediums.
Benham has since expanded N&UR to include three blogs, and recently announced the signing of Tigers Can Bite You. TCBY hail from Silverlake, CA, where they have been building a loyal following since 2006. The band will release the Taking and Running Away EP in September, with their debut full-length to follow in October.
N&UR will be adding several new features to its website over the next year, as the small company continues to prove that an indie community can be about more than just music.
