I DID meet the famous Beat poet, Allen Ginsberg, at the Virginia Military Institute ("VMI"). I'll talk to anybody about that. I just wish I could have gotten to know him better. Here's a picture of him drawing a little Buddha in my Norton Edition of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass.

I wish that I could have met Tennessee Williams. Click on the image below.As a graduate student at Mizzou, I worked on verifying "facts" contained in letters written by Williams. Williams embellished on and, at times, created his own truth in his letters to friends and family, much like his character, Blanche Dubois, in "A Streetcar Named Desire." "Streetcar" is, without a doubt, the best play in the canon of American Literature.
