About Me

Hey, there! Welcome to my page. I guess I should tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in South London, along with my two sisters and brother. We had a strict christian upbringing and music had a very strong influence within our home. I started playing the piano at the tender age of 5, and used to play at church and in school assembilies. I started singing at the the age of 12. My sisters and I used to sing in a gospel group. Over the years, and after gaining my BA Hons in Commercial Music, I decided that singing was for me. I went on to secure a recording deal in 1996. I recorded my debut album 'Up All Night', which gained minor success on the RnB underground scene. Following that, I went on to work with a host of recording artists including: Lionel Richie, Grace Jones, Alexander O'Neal, Beverley Knight, Mark Morrison,Imagination(Leee John),Jaki Graham, Mica Paris, Don-e, Omar, Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson, Louisa Marks, Lorna Gee, Paulette Tajah, Winsome,Toyin, Victor Romero Evans, Winston Reedy, Dennis Bovell, Al Campbell, Ken Boothe, Sir Alton Ellis, Sugar Minott, Maxi Priest, Westlife, Journey South, Il Divo, Lemar, Snow Patrol, Shayne Ward, All Saints, Wood Green Gospel Choir, Visual Ministries Choir, The London Community Gospel Choir and Riversongs. My career has stretched as far as Japan. I have worked and toured with various Japanese artists including: Shiro Sagisu, MISIA, Elisha La'Verne, Masaya Wada, Ken Hirai and Chemistry. In 1997, I did 2 tours of Japan promoting my debut album 'Up All Night'. I have also sung on theme tracks for Japanese TV, feature films (MUSA), Manga style animations (End of Evangelion and Garzey's Wing) and a SEGA online game (Phantasy Star Online). Through my Japanese collaborations, I have had the esteemed pleasure of singing with the Warsaw State Orchestra, in Poland. I'm now a Newly Qualified Teacher of music in secondary education. Everyday is a new learning experience for me. It's tough, but it's one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have found new confidence, and I'm challenged everyday. There's nothing better than doing something that you feel totally passionate about and proud to be a part of. I now understand that the life of a teacher is not an easy one, but can be extremely rewarding. I hope you will enjoy this page. Please feel free to chat!!
