Janet's recording career began in 1977 when she recorded a version of 'Loving You' produced by the legendary Alton Ellis.
Since then Janet has gone on to become a household name within the UK black community, starring in a hit TV series, 'No Problem' and also having a string of Lover's Rock hits, one of which gained Janet a place in the Guiness Book of Records as the first ever British Black Female Reggae Artist to reach the top of the british pop charts with the track 'Silly Games' produced and written by the great Dennis Bovell . 'Silly Games' is now a confirmed reggae anthem spanning 2 generations.
Janet also had a big hit in Japan with the track 'Loving You', being partly responsible for the reggae boom that took place there in the early 1990's.
Janet was voted one of Britain's Top 100 Black Britain's by the Evening Standard and she has also been presented with many awards including her Outstanding Contribution to Black Music by Darker Than Blue in association with Barclays.
