ALBUM REVIEW - Abelwell Foundation have increasingly taken the reggae world by storm, becoming a familiar bye word in the music industry, their debut album ..Talk About It.. is a positive step forward, it is a strong representation of the ability that this band posses and has been given a warm and enthusiastic reception as shown by the reviews below:Russell Myrie The Voice July 26 2004 Music Magazine p.6 Upfront ReviewsAlbums Reviewed:Beenie Man .. Back To Basis. Rated: 3.5/5Abelwell Foundation .. Talk About it. Rated: 3.5/5 ..This Album opens with a declaration signaling the arrival of Abelwell Foundation. Thankfully, the Singer/songwriter musician..s back their chat with melodic creations such as Don..t Push and Alive. Audience empathy is sustained on a set which is principally a celebration of normality. Abelwell take ordinary life experiences like having a thing for someone and poetically mould them into energetic reggae based floetry. Whether it..s moving side-to-side or the grimiest winding positions, all 12 tracks enter your body and provoke your limbs to flow with the continuous beat and lyrical expression. With tunes ranging from sure big-people favorites to more modern sounding riddims, this album will be enjoyed by a wide cross-section of reggae enthusiasts. 3.5/5.. Trevor Nelson BBC Radio 1 MTV .. The Lick ..These singer/songwriters are good; their album Talk About It is very melodic. Their sound will appeal to a wide audience .. Good Reggae... Chris Goldfinger BBC Radio 1 Reggae Dance-Hall Show ..A very enjoyable album. I particularly like the roots tracks, a vibe that is authentic... Ben Turner BBC Radio WM B..ham ..This band has serious potentials. It is very rare that I hear so much quality on a debut album. Abelwell should be on the international stage... Don Angelo Vibe FM London ..This UK production is excellent and their vocals are unique and tight... Daddy Crucial Galaxy FM B..ham ..I would give this album and 8 out of 10. The production is phat and I love how the MC blends his style with the vocalists... Ducker Ranks Sting FM B..ham ..Once this album gets the air play it deserves, it will go far. There are tracks for all different tastes. The album is tough... Gadaffi Sting FM B..ham ..I love the vocals; this is a very good CD, one for the collection. Tough vocals...Abelwell and Trevor Nelson

Add to My Profile | More VideosInterview by Sahin KathawalaI get to call them, Toppa G, Peter Vibes and E Sterling.Andrew McGregor, Peter McGregor and Eamon Sterling, are the three gifted and talented stars of the reggae band Abelwell Foundation. A name that sounds like a big organisation that offers therapy and cure to those who are destitute in life. And guess what? They do! They are no shrinks, but musicians. Their music soothes and fixes. Reggae heals, the rhythms bring harmony to any discord in the body.“Talk About It” is their debut album.I met Andrew and Peter.Their formula for reggae music is amazing. They are inspired by gospel, reggae, r ‘n’ b, rap and oodles more. It is “reggae with a twist” said Peter, looking handsome like an African Prince dressed as he was in traditional Gambian tunic and trousers. The band writes songs together. Peter went on to explain their influences: “Life and love in their many forms: family, partner, God.” They combine reality and spirituality.”Peter and Andrew were chilled. I could feel their warm positive vibes. They are spiritual and intellectual men. Such qualities show in their songs. I felt calm being near them.I wanted to know if they had to choose two reggae musicians from the past to perform with, whom would they choose?Andrew cool and as handsome as Peter, replied ‘Bob “The King” Marley because he gave exposure to Reggae music. And Garnet Silk, because he came with a positive message at a time when there was a lot of negativity within reggae music.’Peter said, “Bob Marley and Dennis Brown.”Peter spoke of the secular lifestyle that is prevalent in society and a lot of music: “There is dullness and a void where there is no faith or belief.”Peter said we make music to leave a legacy, like Bob Marley, whose children inherited his music.I wanted to know their favourite track on the CD. Peter said “déjà vu because of the beats.” And Andrew said “Prophecies, track 6. It was inspired by our tour to Jamaica and Africa. We in the West are fortunate compared to those in the so called Third World who live on the edge of poverty.”Andrew said that touring is a good experience because you get to see the differences between countries and between regions in those countries. You feel the buzz of the place, whether it’s London, New York or the Gambia. The guys had to leave early for sound checks but they gave me their time answered my questions and told me what they were about. Peter explained: “Abelwell Foundation are about getting people to think about their life, how they impact on others, and the love they show; the band is about empowerment. We, the people, through sharing knowledge and advice, can attain that. We can do better. The trouble is a lot of people don’t’ play fair, they don’t share.”There is a lot of love in their music. God is Love; Love is God. It is hard to keep your faith sometimes even if you live in the rich world. Before they left, they added: “Appreciate and enjoy your life, God wants you to.”If you’ve never tried reggae music properly, I strongly recommend Abelwell Foundation, to be taken 24 hours a day. You will go WoW!In a nutshell, Abelwell Foundation are not so much a crowd-pleaser more crowd-thriller. They fill the stage with loving vibes and send them out to the crowds like life jackets to the drowning. Great reggae is here and it is made in the UK.The CD to talk about is “Talk About it”, so do it and get it now!SahinMulti Cultural Music Magazine
