About Me

i love you lord!
For as long as I can remember I have loved to sing, it has always been a great passion within me even as a tiny child. My mother first realised that I actually had a voice when I was about six years old, she heard me singing along with her to her favourite song “Endless love” and began to teach me how to harmonise. Ever since then I began to really knuckle down and explore different types of songs and artists and I began to decide on what genres of music I really liked. I also really enjoyed singing in church. Singer/songwriter My passion for music first began when I was a child, I was bought up in a very musical surrounding, my mother being a singer herself and others members of my family being Dj’s, backing singers ect. The music I listened to ranged from Gospel, Lovers Rock and R&B to Reggae and Pop. Back in the day my mother and father were both big lovers of Lovers Rock. Right about now I am in to all kinds of music, as long as it sounds attractive to my ears. I have also just recently started playing the guitar so when writing songs along with my guitar, My flavour of song writing also tends to change along with it. How my voice was recognised For as long as I can remember I have loved to sing, it has always been a great passion within me even as a tiny child. My mother first realised that I actually had a voice when I was about six years old, she heard me singing along with her to her favourite song “Endless love” and began to teach me how to harmonise. Ever since then I began to really knuckle down and explore different types of songs and artists and I began to decide on what genres of music I really liked. I also really enjoyed singing in church My Path to becoming a Singer/Song writer When I was 11 I got my first lead singing role in my school lever’s assembly “Joseph And the Technicolor coat. This was a major confidence boost for me and was the beginning of my performing career. After this came a string of roles in school plays, talent shows and even dance shows. In November of 1999 I entered a BT Kiosk Karaoke competition, here I had to sing down the phone for thirty seconds, I sang Lauryn Hill’s version of “Your Just Too Good To Be True”. I got through both heats of the competition and as a result, I won the chance to go to Abbey Road Studios in London. We re-record Karma Chameleon along with other winners and Boy George. great experience for me was having the chance to star in a play for our local theatre company at the Millennium Dome. In 2003 In 1999 I began my studies for drama and passed in 2001 with an “A” at GCSE level, and in 2002 I studied Drama at ‘AS’ level and passed with a B. In 2003/2004 I completed a music course and gained a merit level certificate in popular music. My music To me writing music is like a healing process or like purification to the soul, it helps me to come to terms with the way I feel inside whether it is good or bad. Most my songs are based on my experiences, how I feel and my view on the world, love plays a big part in my music. In some ways I think my songs are like a diary to me so in singing them sometimes I feel as though I am expressing a very personal side to myself. My Influences Some of the artists I like are: Lauryn Hill Pink & Avril Levigne Craig David & Lemar Kirk Franklin & Donnie Mclerklin John legend Alicia Keys I like these singers because they each have their own individualities and their music is different. They all bring some thing different to the surface and are not afraid to be who they really are, and in my opinion in the music business these days, It is the best way to be. My Goal I would love to do some backing singing for some well known artists, so that I am able to get the feel of the record industry and also jam with other music lovers, I have done backing singing before and really enjoyed it. I would also like to do some extras and modelling work. Eventually I hope to get the chance to get my own recording contract so that I am able to travel the world and share my music with people from different cultures and ethnicities. In some way hope that my music will reach whom ever it is supposed to and touch them in exactly the way it should.
