About Me

Hello !!This is a space to pass on information about what happens in the Green Fields of the Glastonbury Festival. Coordinators of the different fields and the events are featured and updated on our linked Wiki. This site will now be dormant until the plans for the 2008 festival begin. New friend requests will not be approved until the new year. Details of the 2007 festival will remain here to give a flavour of what goes on in the green fields. At the festival we will be in the Green Media Area in the Green Futures Field, on the main track up to the stone circle. We're the blue Marquee with the sunflowers and a big sign that says ..INFORMATION'. Stop by and we'll let you know what's happening where in the Green Fields. The Green Fields are:- The Green Futures Field, Avalon Field, Craft Field, Green Kids Field, Greenpeace, Circus Field, Lost Vagueness, Healing Field, Tipi Field and The Sacred Space.Russell, Information Coordinator Green Way 2007: Win Tickets for Glastonbury 2008!Getting around at Glastonbury, you are bound at some point to use the old railway line. This year, when you do, you will find it hard to avoid The Green Way. In support of the â€˜Stop Climate Chaosâ€¦ Icountâ€™ campaign, the Green Way is packed full of information about WHY we should work together to Stop Climate Chaos, and how we, as individuals, can make positive steps to do so by reducing our own carbon footprint. Itâ€™s not too late, but we must ACT NOW!And if you do, you could win tickets to next yearâ€™s festival. The person who can prove, in the most creative or amusing way, that they have reduced their carbon footprint considerably will win two tickets. We don't want to lose that mystery within the green fields by logging everything and typing it into a web page! CURRENT MOON moon info On the Monday night before Glastos look out for the celestial alignment in Leo; The new crescent moon with Venus, Saturn and Regulus all in a line just after sunset. Mercury is there too but v.difficult to see. Venus and Saturn will be there every night of the festival but the moon will move on waxing and staying up later each night. And that bright planet low in the south above the stone circle as you walk up the hill, after the last band, is Jupiter. It is in the constellation of Orphiuchus (the 13th sign of the zodiac!). You see the "12" signs of the zodiac are on the ecliptic (the path of the sun through the heavens). Years ago the path was divided into 12 equal constellations (30 degree segments). BUT the universe has been expanding, the stars are moving relative to each other. Some have grown in size; Pisces huge and some shrunk; Aries. One has crept into the ecliptic; Orphiucus!
