"Brass a come and so do the Amigos. This band mix influences like other people mix narcotic cocktails..." Since the very start, the Amigos have been spreading dirty love.
From beginnings in the un-reachable El Rey, a town at the edge of reason, they have remained true to the creed that we is all Amigos. It's an ideal, a hook to hang ideas, tunes and hats on.
As a band, performance and music breathe life into a three ringed circus with free entry to the ranks of the twisted and disheartened just needing an excuse to get together and get down. And as the travelling circus rolls along, each show sees new amigos joining the frontline. There's no formula, it just happens.
Fusing styles with conviction, the Amigos draw from the musical palette like few other groups. It's not about clever or quirky, haircuts or haters. Since the twinkly eyed conception of The Amigos it's always been about putting on a show, living like you're gonna die ...and love, dirty, dirty love.
Thanks for stopping by.
We is all Amigosxxx Oh, and by the way...
As much as we love the twisted people of the world, we feel it's important we only add friends that either we actually know and love or endorse what they are about. We will take care to read your page, listen to any music and time permitting, send you a message if you are gracious enough to accept a friendship request from us. We won't accept friends requests from any band or group that is just using us to make up the numbers if we don't dig whats in their sandpit.
The info...
Following a major line up change, 2007 has rolled along like a bastard shopping trolley tied to Greyhound. Beginning with several insane South London shows to sell out audiences including The Venue in New Cross and Brixton's Jamm. Consistent gigging as and when the need arose, saw the band at a few choice festivals across a rather wet summer. A support slot for the Alabama3 at the St. Albans Arena sparked the first serious offer from record company types but a chance meeting with drum'n'bass producer DJ Wickaman prompted the band to make a bold move and strap another hound to the trolley and grease the wheels. Currently working on their first album project with Wickaman at the helm (and adding a mash of turntablism to the live show), the Amigos cork is set to pop in 2008. Old skool live band energy, new skool production. Hooks like a one armed pirate...brace yourself.
