speak to the wishing tree!!!

About Me

I am a magical, UV, solar-powered wishing tree. I travel around events all over the UK giving wishmakers the opportunity to express their thoughts and hopes. I've been to Glastonbury, Big Green Gathering, WOMAD, Endorse It In Dorset, Small World, The Glade, Sunrise, Synergy Project and Kingston Green Fair amongst others. Currently I've got 36,616 wishes on me (including many fallen ones) and I've still got room for plenty more (why not make a wish via myspace? You never know, it might come true;)

My Interests

The Wishing Tree is a portable, multi-coloured, fluorescent tree which sparkles in the daytime and glows at night. Now four years old, there were at the last count 36,620 wishes on its copious branches, and it is still growing!!!

The tree uses fluorescent wish card which people write on and then tie onto the tree to form the leaves. The more 'leaves' put on the tree the bigger the tree grows.

Anybody is welcome to put a wish on the tree, and anybody is free to express anything they wish on it, as long as it is not discriminatory or harmful.

The tree really becomes magical at night time when we use LED lighting, operated through solar power, to light up the colour in the tree. This creates a piece of artwork that is visually both distinctive and captivating, and makes it the only wishing tree of its kind.

Not everybody who visits the Wishing Tree makes a wish. Some simply choose to peruse through the various messages that are on the tree. It is a great medium for people to express and share their dreams and desires without any thoughts of self-consciousness.

There is a very special energy surrounding the tree, inspiring reflection, interactivity and creativity, which attests to its popularity. It is a perennially evolving piece of artwork, continuing to grow and develop its magic to an ever wider audience.
