The Bird's Nest in Deptford has been hosting live music for ages, rumour has it that Squeeze and Dire Straits once played here, though I wasn't around to see it myself, so I have to go by the word on the long time locals.
On Monday evenings, round about 7:30pm, Nathan Persad hosts an acoustic open mic, featuring two quality performers providing full sets at the end.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, round about 9pm, local and distant bands fill the stage with bodies and equipment, and the room with sweet beautiful music.
