Brighton Frocks is the first organisation in Brighton to facilitate an opportunity to up and coming Brighton designers, by providing a platform on which they can showcase & promote their work to the public and people within the fashion industry. The event is held annually to celebrate the diversity of Brigton's fashion, working towards local and national recognition for Brighton designers and aiming to put Brighton on the UK fashion map through setting up a Brighton Fashion Weekend.Visitors to the south coast city can expect exclusive workshops, fashion parades, Open Studios, shop discounts, fashion installations, special film screenings, a VIP after show party and other must-see events taking place across the city from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June. The main event, Brighton Frocks Fashion Show, will be held on Friday 13th June at 8pm, at The Old Market, Hove. Tickets cost £14 or £12 for students and are available from the Old Market box office (Tel: 01273 736222 or go to www.theoldmarket.co.uk).Notable designers involved in this year's Brighton Frocks Fashion Show (part of Brighton Fashion Weekend) include designer Suzie Turner who has dressed many celebrities such as Kelly Brook, Footballers’ Wives actress Susie Amy and Hollyoaks actress Danielle Brent. For the 2008 Bafta awards A-lister Kelly Brook chose Suzie personally to create her an outfit to remember. Other big designers showcasing at the event include the bespoke tailor Oliver Woo, who has three stores in the UK (including Brighton), couture designer Joanne Fleming, and Dolly Daisy Design.Brighton Fashion Weekend is all about celebrating the diversity of Brighton’s fashion scene. We’re working towards local and national recognition for the city’s most inspirational independent designers, with a programme of great events that will make people sit up and take notice of Brighton’s first fashion weekender.â€
