About Me

John grew up in Levin – New Zealand. He started playing drums at the age of 9, and by age 11 he was drumming in his Church Choir, it was here he developed versatility, sensitivity and maturity as a team-player. He has a love for all styles of music; this has enabled him to experience many different musical situations. At the age of 19, John toured the USA and upon his return began studies with renowned New Zealand drummer/teacher, Roger Sellers. He has performed and recorded with many of New Zealand’s top musicians and performers. John has toured nationally and internationally, appeared on television, enjoys teaching/tutoring and has held drum workshops throughout New Zealand.John currently lives in Melbourne – Australia.
