CODEPINK is a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect our resources into healthcare, education and other life-affirming activities. CODEPINK rejects the Bush administration's fear-based politics that justify violence, and instead calls for policies based on compassion, kindness and a commitment to international law. With an emphasis on joy and humor, CODEPINK women and men seek to activate, amplify and inspire a community of peacemakers through creative campaigns and a commitment to non-violence.

“ We call on women around the world to rise up and oppose the war in Iraq. We call on mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and daughters, on workers, students, teachers, healers, artists, writers, singers, poets and every ordinary outraged woman willing to be outrageous for peace. Women have been the guardians of life—not because we are better or purer or more innately nurturing than men, but because the men have busied themselves making war. Because of our responsibility to the next generation, because of our own love for our families and communities and this country that we are a part of, we understand the love of a mother in Iraq for her children and the driving desire of that child for life” —Starhawk
Julia Ward Howe’s inspirational 1870 Proclamation against the carnage of the Civil War:
Arise then...women of this day! Arise, all women who have hearts!… Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage, For caresses and applause. Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn All that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience. We, the women of one country, Will be too tender of those of another country To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs." From the voice of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with our own. It says: "Disarm! Disarm"

In the beginning of February 2007, the White House will most likely submit a new supplemental spending bill to Congress, and CODEPINK will join with Voices for Creative Nonviolence to launch Occupation Project, a campaign of sustained nonviolent civil disobedience to end war funding. The campaign begins on February 5, 2007 with occupations at the offices of Representatives and Senators who refuse to pledge to vote against additional war funding. See list of Key Dates here! On this page you'll find all the resources you need--from outreach and action planning tips, to supplemental funding bill info, to resources about the cost of war--to make your Occupation Project a success!

Notice: George Bush and Dick Cheney have given themselves the dictatorial power to read your email, monitor your phone calls, review your Internet searches, prevent you from flying, interfere with your family's medical decisions, send you to war on the basis of lies, and throw out (or change) your votes. There is no solution exception Impeachment. http://impeachpac.org
