About Me

As of today (9/4/07) 3742 US Soliders have been killed in Iraq. A vast majority of those soliders are under the age of 25 and a startling number are under the age of 21. I ask myself this question daily, why is it news worthy when and considered a "massacre" when 30 college kids are killed but when thousands of US soldiers in the same age bracket are killed we change the channel on the news or skip over the article? Everyday since the war has started a college aged person has been wounded or killed yet so few seem to notice. It is my belief that we ALL have a responsibility to the men and women serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan to have the courtesy to take notice and pay respect for the sacrafice they have made. I've rationalized the attitude of indiffernce because when we do see the reports it reads something like "3 Dead in Iraq Violence Today". Those "3 Dead" had family friends that mourn them and a future they'll never get to live. Remember them and pray for their families. ************************************ 1st Lt. Michael R.
