THE HARDEST PART WAS LIVING THROUGH IT!

About Me

The day I put the needle down was the night I picked up the pen. It was heavy. Opening the first journal was the deepest breath I'd ever taken! The pages were daring me to undress, scars and all. The ink seemed as if it were soiling the pretty, white pages with true stories from my filthy life. I found freedom in growing and appreciating the mud I sprouted from. Then I found myself to battling the bottle... Tequila almost finished what Heroin failed to do. The Baruch Projects on the lower-east side of Manhattan, NYC had yet another blade of grass grown from the ash of dead junkies. Amazing, how we can hear while we're here, but could never hear while we were "there"... My hope is that these blogs place hands around broken hearts and damaged faiths; stories of a broken boy that, over time, placed piece by piece of himself back together with the help of a couple of angels (and a truckload of demons). We sat, table of jigsawed memories and reflected over the war for my spirit, while giggling over the battles won throughout the years by either side. This is the chessboard known as my life."Low Tide" is for the addicted. It's a daily jounal concerning a drug-free lifestyle when my mind tells me I'm making a big mistake! Enjoy.

Still learning

Yeah, up all night again. Usually I'm just watching television and editing my book of memoirs at this ungodly hour, but today has been a little different. I'm spent the last 24hrs lonely. I spent some...

It's been more than an interesting couple of days for me. First, let me say that I've made some friends here in Rich City, and they've proven to have spirits I can admire! Since curating for SlamRichm...

So I came to the conclusion that my writing sucks! About three days ago, I text Tshaka, "God, I hate everything I've ever written! None of it is worthy of anyone's eyes or ears!" He simply replies, "Y...

Define "Father"?

I want to write poems about my children. The only problem is I don't think I deserve to. I haven't been there for them in years. I'm ashamed. I haven't seen my daughter in over a year now, and haven't...

Feb. 15th, 2:28 am, Minneapolis, MN.

So I entered my first Erotic slam here in Minneapolis, MN. It was interesting. I've never say through an entire erotic poem before, let alone an entire slam of it! 20 poets, 3 rounds; that's a lot of ...
