With influences from Johnny Cash to the Beatles and Alan Jackson to the Stones, the band is able to embrace the roots of country while creating its own progressive, rock-infused country style. Receiving regular central MA airplay and very positive press, Ted Painter is establishing himself as a songwriter to watch. "In my mid thirties" says Ted, "I feel that I can write about life’s ups and downs from a vantage point of often hard won experience. I just try to tell stories that folks can relate to and that’ll move ’em in a positive way.†The members of the South County Band are old friends, with a shared history of recording and live projects. Together Ted and the band are building a bridge between the traditional and contemporary, combining country, rock and roots music.Most recently, they have been playing in and around the Worcester County area and were signed to a one song deal by the "To the Fallen" record label for inclusion on their country music compilation released in December ’07.
