About Me

Watch our acoustic show and more at SyncLive.com***The acoustic tracks included on this site will eventually be turned into full blown demos by Ted and the South County Band. Feel free to visit the South County Band Site to listen to fully produced "plugged in" tracks.***Ted Painter may be a new addition to the Massachusetts music scene but he’s sure not hard to pick out of a line-up in an area predominately saturated by hard rock. To the Fallen Records describes his music as having an “eclectic folk/rock/country sound.” The Worcester Telegram and Gazette describes his sound as “a blending of country and rock influences that fuses twangy guitar parts with strong, propulsive rhythms for a heartland sound” and the Boston Globe simply calls his music “great rockabilly!” No matter what you call it, people like the sound and the uplifting message that often accompanies it and Ted is intensely focused on bringing his brand of country music to you!Painter—who joined the army right out of high school, became an Airborne Ranger, climbed the ranks from private to captain, and served in two combat zones—started writing and performing original songs at open-mic's in February 2006. "In my mid thirties, I feel that I can write about life's ups and downs from a vantage point of often hard won experience. I just try to tell stories that folks can relate to and that will move them in a positive way.” In October of ’06 a fellow musician recommended that Ted visit a local studio to record some demo’s. Within a few months the producer became Ted’s full time bass player and quickly recruited two of his regular session players to play lead guitar and drums. By the spring of 2007 Ted Painter and the South County Band could be seen at any number of clubs, bars, and festivals in the central Massachusetts area and Ted’s songs were receiving airplay on independent FM stations in Worcester, Ma. Most recently, Ted signed a one song deal for inclusion on a country music compilation CD that was released in Dec. 07 on the "To the Fallen" record label and he is currently recording songs for his first EP to be released in April 2008.
