About Me

Reuben Harper and Co deliver some powerful, punchy rock music. ______________________________________________________Chamel eon is NZ indie rock at its best and most accessible (think ‘The Bleeders’ genetically crossed with ‘the feelers‘ in Dr Frankenstein’s laboratory). The upcoming 6 song EP ‘Some Kind of Monster’ is a rollcall of scary creatures, intriguing stories and love songs.______________________________________________________ Songwriter Reuben Harper has been in rock covers bands previously. Presently he is doing some solo live performances (plugging songs off the Chameleon EP) at miscellaneous Auckland venues. ______________________________________________________ Third single is ‘Plasticine’. With a blistering Santana-style guitar solo right off out of the shoot this one is sure to rock your pants off! It’s a twisted tale of love gone wrong, delivered with a Jim Morrison-esque vocal quality. ______________________________________________________ Second single is 'Egotrippers': It’s a pointed, G n’ R style tune that starts out like a quiet one at the pub but gets rowdy fast!Lyrically, it’s an acerbic one-finger salute to extremely egocentric individuals. The apocalyptic second guitar solo sounds like U2 heralding the end of the world. Such edge and dissonance at the same time is truly cathartic and spellbinding.A rocker anthem (about rallying for the underdog). ______________________________________________________First single is 'New Light': The guitars have a wide, psychedelic sound and there’s a cool live rock vibe to the drums (think Beach Boys meets The Ramones, sung by Lou Reed). Lyrically it’s an upbeat song about finding new love. ______________________________________________________Purcha sable downloads (and CD Distribution shortly) available at www.amplifier.co.nz ______________________________________________________For more info, checkout the official band website at www.chameleon.iwarp.com
