"KILLINEY BEACH"
View of Sandycove, Dun Laoghaire Pier and Dublin in the background from Bullock Harbour.

"CANON LAW!" geddit!

"CRUCIFIXION"
This is an amazing piece of Sculpture which was eventually donated to my town and now overlooks the Pier and Dublin Bay. It was hidden for many many years in a crypt in Paris to spare it from being melted down to make munitions during WW2. Phew for that! I'm not religious in the religious sense as such but I always feel drawn to this piece. It is so strong physically but also spiritually! I have sat beside it many times for long times and I draw some inspiration from it!
"Promise"
A concept I have, to bring about an awareness about depression and suicide. It's a promise I made to a mate after he hanged himself. I was shocked at how he hid his feelings and never gave out any clues that he was contemplating topping himself.
"Promise" is from the promise I made to my friend that I would highlight the plight of people who live with depression which I call "Dark Places" The concept is basically that there can always be colour and light in the darkest of places and this is my way of Physically bringing Colour into some Dark Places.
I made a seven piece, 6 feet tall, 3" by 1" portable spectrum of the rainbow colours, and am physically bringing the pieces about with me, setting it up in various "Dark places" about the county, and photographing it there.
The project is shelved for the moment due to lack of funding, and trasnsport would be handy...:) but...a promise is a promise! ;)
"PROMISE"
"Unbroken Man"
"IT'S NOT OUT THERE"
"lets face it!"
"A Day" 3 piece, Sunrise, Midday, Sundown.
"The Longest Road" The saddest thing I have ever painted yet....
I like this..."Dirty Dublin" A working mess at the moment...BUT! I like it because I havn't put a brush near it! :)
Heres another mess I made.
It's / was A Mural I was asked to do on a wall in a new Shoe Shop, "DV8" in Temple Bar in Dublin a few years ago!
Would you let me loose with a paintbrush in your house? LOL!
MY HOMETOWN DUN LAOGHAIRE...this is very slow but a few people asked me about my town so I just put the slideshow together for them. If anybody is interested, there is a public forum about my town at the link below. Feel free to register and join in. You will be most welcome. Cheers! :)

Your Dominant Intelligence is Spatial Intelligence

You've got a good sense of space and how the world around you looks.
You can close your eyes and "see" images. You have innate artistic talent.
An eye for color and shapes, you're also a natural designer.
Since you think in pictures, visual aids and demonstrations help you learn best.

You would make a good navigator, sculptor, visual artist, inventor, architect, interior designer, or engineer.

What Kind of Intelligence Do You Have?

Damn! It didn't foretell the hidden Musician in me! :)

You are The Magician

Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing, you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

"They shoot horses don't they!

I laughed all the way through putting this little 2 piece together.
It is a simple collage of four black and white photocopies, 2 of them duplicates
pasted to black mounting board
and sketched over with various media.
These two are a classic pair, I think, that will give you, at least,
an idea of some of my humo(u)r...
and if you suss it out, a good laugh! :)
Still for sale BTW! ;)

Luke Kelly.
He was a friend of my uncles and I met him a few times, usually on christmas day, a funny man. One day I heard a lot of laughing going on in a room and went in to explore...to find Luke and 2 uncles engulfed in smoke. They tried to tell me it was a paper Christmas Cracker hat on fire in the Ashtray and the smell was from the Christmas Brussell sprouts on the boil coming from the Kitchen??? yeah, right? When I laughed at them and the lame excuse they told me I could have a smoke if I didn't tell me me Mudder, which I didn't...and have never looked back! :)
R.I.P.Luke! :)
"RAGLAN ROAD" by LUKE KELLY of the DUBLINERS.
Lyrics by the Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh,
Traditional air...
"Inne Geal an La": "Dawning of the Day"
The lyrics if you'ld like to sing along...They're almost accurate...if you have any problems though...go back and start again! haha! Enjoy"
Raglan Road
On Raglan Road on an Autumn day I saw her first and knew
that her dark hair would weave a snare that I would one day rue
I saw the danger yet I walked along the enchanted way
and I said Let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day
On Grafton Street in November we tripped lightly along the ledge
of a deep ravine where can be seen the worth of passion's pledge
the Queen of Hearts still making tarts, and I not making hay
and I loved too much and by such and by such is happiness thrown away
I gave her gifts of the mind and I gave her a secret sign
that's known to all the artists who have known true gods of sound and tone
and word and tint I never did stint, I gave her poems to say
with her own name there and her long dark hair
like clouds over fields of May
On a quiet street where old ghosts meet I see her walking now
away from me so hurriedly my reason must allow
that I have wooed not as I should, a creature made of clay
when the angel wooes the clay he'll loose his wings at the dawning of the day
