THE FEELERS BIOThe feelers formed in 1993 with Hamish Gee (drums) and Matt Thomas (bass) and James Reid (guitar/vocals) after developing their sound, and their song writing, the band started making a name for themselves in their hometown of Christchurch New Zealand,1995 they won the battle of the bands and recorded their first EP THE LEAVINGIn 1996 the signed with Warner music NZ and began work on their debut album SUPERSYTEM this album contained the singles, pressure man, (nominated for 5 NZ music awards the first year and four more for the album in the next, winning producer both years and band of the year, best song writing for Venus, and album of the year. Selling over 5 times platinum and staying in the charts for well over a year, from that album venus and supersystem, also achieving most played songs on NZ radio for two consecutive years.In 2001 they recorded and released COMMUNICATE produced by Gil Norton and recorded by Danton Supple, this album had a very polished international sound. With the singles communicate (nominated for best song of the year at the NZ music awards) The album went Number 1 and sold over double platinumIn November 2003 the band released PLAYGROUND BATTLE this cemented the band in the hearts of NZ. Selling over three times platinum. The singles stand up and the fear have been the second and third most played songs on NZ radio.In 2006 after touring and being on the road for so long they have reached a mile stone and have played over 1000 shows and their latest summer tour has been to sell out crowds through out the country.New album has been completed and will be released in New Zealand November 13th.
