Exploring the unknown

About Me

I had a pretty good job but felt that the usual grind wasn't my thing. So I quit my job and started my new life as a professional adventure racer. Sometimes in life you have to take a risk. It was in my gut that the idea of putting my body through races that last as long as 9 days is my new deal.
Adventure racing includes multi-diciplined sports such as mountain biking, orienteering, kayaking, rowing, horse back riding, running, rock climbing...it can vary from race to race but pretty much you are trying to find your way with a team of four(includes at least one woman) over a distance of 300 miles.
Check out where I've traveled to for races on my travel profile.

Primal Quest Utah, July 2006...a race to the very finish...
One of my favorite parts of the race...
A race to the finish for 3rd place...7 days later!
Shower time, it's amazing what you smell like after 7 days of sweat.

My Interests

Staying fit and competitive, adventure racing, hanging out with friends, reading, going on long hikes off the beaten track.
