Kim Olesen

My name is Kim Olesen. A guitarplayer by education (i graduated from vestjysk music conservatoire some years ago) i also do keyboards now and then. Presently i'm playing with progmetal band ANUBIS GATE as well as a couple of cover bands and other lesser known projects. I thought it could be fun to make it possible for those interested to hear what it sounds like when i'm not playing metal, so take a listen. STENEREN: A live recording with fusion/electronica band UDSIGT from "Rytmeposten" in Odense. Lots of fusion guitar on this one
SUB AQUA: Is a song from my still (and probably remaining so for ever, i had a deal for it to go out but as it often happens, nothing happened. Maybe one day......) unreleased solo album "GEOGRAPHIC". All instruments by me.
TUNDRA: Another song from the illfated solo album. A snowstorm on the mighty russian tundra. You don't want to be caught in this......
BRAIN-WAVES: This strange guitar driven track was composed on two principles. The "infinity principle" as concieved by danish neo-classic composer Per Noergaard, and the principles of indonesian gamelan temple music. Both composing principles gives melodic lines that constantly interweave with each other, albeit in two very different ways. Where the lines of Noergaards composing methods will never meet again to start a new cycle, the lines of gamelan music always at some point comes round in a cycle. As you need a "point of origin" to make an infinity line i chose Miles Davis "So What". So the careful listener will note that the first 8 notes are indeed a qoute from Miles's groundbreaking composition.
