About Me

CURRENT MOON lunar phasesI have played the Saxophone for over Twenty years - starting on Alto and later Tenor - working with many different bands gigging, touring and recording. For the last eight years I have been part of "King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys" (see friends below). A great band playing Swing/Jump Jive and R&B travelling all over the world and having many good times.I am also part of the "Roy Wood’s Rock & Roll Band" and more recently "The Michael Roach Band". As well as the regular gigs I am lucky to diversify and work ad hoc with various outfits.
I made this layout with help from pYzam , Look at these other Layouts!

Influences: Originally, as an Alto player, I was Charlie Parker and Earl Bostic mad and got into Cannonball Adderley then David Sanborn, Gerald Albright, Maceo Parker and Kenny Garrett. On Tenor I love Stan Getz, Branford Marsalis, Michael Brecker, Kirk Whalum, Gene Ammons, Ben Webster and Stanley Turrentine. The last decade I have become a great R&B fan and heavily influenced by such Honkers as Big J McNeely, Sam Butera, Plas Johnson, Illnois Jaquet, Willis Jackson, Hal Singer, Fathead Newman and Sam 'the man' Taylor. Now I suppose I have a little of all of the above in me - interesting.
