About Me

Lightajo is a JamMetal band from Memphis, Tennessee. Formed in 2005 as a trio, Lightajo featured the classy shred of Zak Baker on guitar, the funky groove of Jake Fly on the bass, and the source of simply unexplainable excellence behind the drumset, Michael Shelton.
After an extended break in 2006, Lightajo returned early in 2007 with the addition of rhythm guitar/space sounds expert Daniel Brown. Not too long after that, the band was graced with the addition of jazz virtuoso, Jason Miller, on the piano. Since then, Lightajo has moved up, opening for such acts as MOFRO and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. After some internal conflict, the band finally switched bass players, trading the raw, power bass lines of Jake Fly for the precise, melodic innovation of funkmaster Chris Saunders.
Lightajo, in its final incarnation blazes its way into hearts and souls, as the experimental/jam/metal/funk band that is eternally representing the dirty South.
