Curtis Smith is a producer, musician, engineer, composer, arranger. He plays Drums, Bass Guitar, and keyboards artistically and professionally. Graduating from LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts, class of '82, with multiple music awards, (specifically for his work and original compositions for the now famous M&A Contemporary Gospel Chorus) he attended the Center For The Media Arts in NYC, NY and acquired the art and skilll of audio Engineering. His experience as audio engineer for live broadcast and Telecast was obtained at the Pilgrim Church (Hdqtrs) in Bklyn, NY during live telecast aired on FOX 5 and UPN 9 as well as weekly radio broadcast over WWRL AM. He has completed numerous Performance Tracks, Demos and CD projects in his privately owned recording studio facility in NYC. His First commercially released track from his studio yielded a Grammy nomination. The artist was Kelly Price, 'PRICELESS' (Def/Soul, 2003). The track was 'He proposed' written by Bobby Arrington, Produced by Curtis Smith, (played all instruments except Piano) Bob Arrington and Dave Cintron. The track was nominated in category 26 for BEST TRADITIONAL R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE.Since then, Curtis has been quietly developing CREDIBLE WITNESS ENTERTAINMENT, LLC which he is the owner/CEO. This is a multi divisional entity composed of music (which will release his first solo CD), transportaion and real estate divisions. The Music division owns and operates his recording facility. His Transportation division owns and operates CW TOURS (MCI). Prayerfully, the real estate division will be operational in late 2009.In June, 2006, Curtis was blessed to have recorded 'EVERY PROMISE' with DR. EDWIN HAWKINS and the Music and Arts Love Fellowship choir, with Curtis on lead vocals, directed by New Yorks darling, MELANIE DANIELS, live in Houston, TX. This project is very special because it is the 25th anniversary recording of this world famous choir.Curtis will release his first solo CD project in 2008, Curtis Smith, 'Have a Lil Talk'. This project demonstrates his musical/technical skill and talent in that he produced, engineered, performed and wrote the majority of songs. This project is a collection of songs given to him while under the ministry of the late Bishop Charles J. Reed, former pastor of the Pilgrim Cathedral Of Harlem where Curtis has been a member, faithfully, for the past 15 yrs. Without a doubt these songs have been tried and tested and have proven to be simple, yet annointed. Any church musician can listen, be ministered to and teach his/her choir(s), as the songs are suitable for any sunday Morning service.
This CD promises to be enjoyed by millions and ministering to more. Stay tuned to this space to learn first when and where the release concert will be..as it promises to be one not soon forgotten...!
