Band Members: Once upon a time, as in NOW, there are two Sisters. They are close and throughout their lives they have shared all the big life events both good and bad. These Sisters have commonalities and a link of similarity, but they are also very different from one another. This music is about that : It celebrates the sharing, the closeness, the talent, the ordinary, the extraordinary and the down to earth passion for music.ALY GYNN has Asperger Syndrome and is profoundly gifted in the Arts (not maths) A bit like Rainman with a paintbrush. - She prefers a definition of the rather complicated : Autistic Evincabilty Creative, Lesbian, Human Rights Beatboxer, Guitar playing, Singer/songwriter comedienne, Visual artist (MA fine art) and Performance Poet. As a professional Artist and Performer working in the Creative Industries - She is restricted to Key venue performing during any year. So is unable to tour extensively as other performers and Artists do. Successful performances so far have been with support of the venues' management teams and event organisors. Her work is supported by Arts Council England and she has recently won an award to develop her work - Only because she refused to leave their office staff toilets! That is not true (of course) their inclusion policy support was essential to future development of her work. And the opportunity to work with Pam is jolly splendid..........Aly believes in working hard to softly challenge discrimination. She is keen to explore the seeming hierarchy of abilty and disabilty within the Autistic Spectrum and has extensive experience of working with Young People with 'Severe' Autism in an Educational context. She regards her Autism as a disabilty which does need managing and coping with (and sometimes this is very very difficult). But Aly is not completly convinced about this general thrust of 'curing' Autism. She has great respect for carers and parents and those who love and take care of children and adults who experience the extreme severe aspects of the Autistic Spectrum. And wishes to contribute to helping in any way through her creative work. Aly works, presents and performs for charities and organisations. Especially those which have previously helped her cope with her own life in some way.Aly is keen to exhibit a completed body of work toward a One Woman Show of paintings in 2009. Ideally this would be with an organisation such as the National Autistic Society.
To her, the political, the personal, humour, integrity, passion, compassion and visabilty are essential interlinked components of working toward Equality,Human Rights and anti- discriminatory practices. She likes using over complicated statements and words, not to show off, but to collect them alongside her model tractors and conkers.
Influences: PAM GYNN also believes in challenging discrimination, but without all the fuss that Aly makes about issues. She is subtle and more down to earth - sorting the world out with friends over a bottle of wine, some homemade quiche and the sort of belly laughter that keeps this gentle Earth spinning. She is an experienced Nurse and works in the South West of England. She is lovely and bubbly and goes out rocking with her friends as well as performing and singing wherever and whenever she can. If you are a musician, anywhere in the world, and want to work with her and her amasing voice - contact us here. She is presently working via the World Wide web with Aamir from escape Artists and is contributing vocals a song they are working on. She can gig much more than Aly and is keen to do such---------------We have two lovely brothers, Stew Gynn and Trev Gynn from the band Silverback. Silverback is popular and performs exceptionally high quality cover songs for many events throughout the South West of England. Pam guest sings with this band.Aly performed two nights (comedy and performance poetry) for the New Wolsey Theatre's Pulse Fringe Festival this year . At the end of the show - She does not do Maths - sung Twigg. the duet will be recorded later this year. NEW WOLSEY THEATRE has invited Aly back to contribute to a Stand Up comedy night in Feb 2008. And there will be more performances that we will tell you about as things develop. In fact, we are having to slow the development process down to maintain performance health and longevity within the creative industries. We are keen to continue recording with Jason at OLD SCHOOL STUDIOS, Suffolk UK in 2008 - We feel very strongly that he has quite extra-ordinary skill and sensitivity when recording muscians and voice. We have also found GoodMerry Studio in North Cornwall to record another version of Twig (add a g) Twigg and we are looking forward to recording and uploading this for the New Year.Aly is in SUFFOLK. Pam is in CORNWALL - we work and communicate extensively and develop set objectives which are physically acheived by the great british Public Transport system up and down the Country. All work, unless stated and/or collaborative is ©Gynn
