Apart from music I'm also interested in experiencing as much of this planet as I can while I'm walking around on it. So far I've been to 41 countries which aint bad for 27 years. As much as I care about climate change, which I do seriously, life's too short and flights are too cheap!
I'm a versatile DJ with enough vinyl to sink an aircraft carrier but now I'm not happy unless I've got 2 CD decks as well as 2 Turntables. I would describe my mixing style as "A.D.D" as in Attention Deficit, I like to keep it interesting and add something different to the mix. A tune is rarely in play for more than 2 or 3 minutes unless its being mixed with an accapella, scratched over or played at the end of my set. After going to loads of raves in the late 90s I started mixing Drum and Bass and Garage and have sinced branched out into almost every other music style that you can fit into a set. I like mixing breakbeats with 4x4 beats back and forth taking a set through loads of different stages building all the way but with a strong bassy backbone. You can make playing records as simple or as complex as you like and I prefer to make it complex. I first started DJing at Dark Jams in Preston, a night that me and my DJ buddy Morgan started after getting fed up of playing in bars where everyone wanted to hear funky house. I was then made the main resident in the second room at Toast in Manchester where me and MC Mr Ree had the place rockin every time. We took Toast to Ibiza in 2004 and have gone back every summer since. That year I also became the first breaks DJ to play at Goodgreef in Manchester and played other gigs with the GG lot at North Gathering and NW Preston. I am getting involved in production this year and have got my first tune in the pipeline. Check out the first part of my mix....one for the trouble two for hard times. Peace n all that :)
