Tidy’s Head Of Music Sam Townend is one of the leading figures in the Hard Dance scene today.
Running the world’s premier label for the Harder Generation, making up one half of the rising duo The Tidy DJ’s, and also a solo artist in his own right, Sam is one of the busiest and most versatile DJ’s on the circuit, with the ability to play to any crowd at any time of the night armed with the most cutting edge sounds fresh from the tidy stable.
Holding residencies at the legendary Sundissential (North), Parlez-vous? (Bradford) and Twist (London), coupled with regular main room appearances at the biggest promotions across the UK such as Good Greef, Frantic, Tranzaction, Love Leeds Festivals, Tidy Weekenders and with international gigs in Brazil, Norway, Poland and Ireland, Sam’s unique sound of tough, funky ‘party’ Hard House mixed with his own exclusive remixes and bootlegs is very much in demand at the moment.
2007 saw Sam mix his first Compilation Album alongside BK, Ed Real and Paul Glazby, ‘Hard House Designer labels’ received critical acclaim across the board, and was sold internationally through major chains such as HMV and Virgin.
On top of all this Sam is also a well established producer, with a number of releases and remixes across some of the scenes biggest imprints.
His first ever production ‘Shake It’ was snapped up for release on the famous Tripoli Trax, and a follow up single on the label soon followed with a collaboration with Ben Stevens in the form of ‘Underground Funk’.
With tracks and remixes soon following on his own underground label Shroom Recordings, Superconducter, Stealth Records and HWC records, Sam soon proved he was no two hit wonder regularly receiving rave reviews in all the leading dance music publications such as Mix Mag, IDJ, DJ Mag & M8.
In more recent times Sam has collaborated with Jon BW on Tidy with ‘Scream For Daddy’ and ‘How Can I love You’ both becoming best sellers, and also collaborated with Jon on the new Untidy Dubs
At the age of 25, Sam Townend has the Hard Dance world at his feet!
