Best enjoyed out of direct sunlight, Defective delivers distinctive progressive house and trance tracks that fuse a range of influences and styles. The Defective project is fronted by UK DJ and producer Jonathan Barker , and is promoted online by Presence Music . Representing the dark and progressive elements of Jonathan's writing and production work, Defective first graced the pages of the Presence Music website with a unique re-working of the chart-bothering Electric Six track, Gay Bar. Originally produced for a remix competition hosted by London radio station XFM, Defective's transformation of the track resulted in a deep and dark progressive workout that received UK radio play (XFM, Galaxy) and DJ support beyond expectations. That initial spark ignited a flame that burned bright, fuelling a huge number of new studio tracks that are currently nearing completion.
Although the mysterious and enigmatic face of Defective rarely shows itself in daylight, night-time brings out all manner of wicked things - after a break from the limelight used to focus on studio production the Defective project will soon be let out into the wild.
