During much of the 80s and 90s, LA born drummer Jeffery B. Suttles made a habit of backing many of the hottest acts in the business, from Bill Withers, Donny Osmond, Teena Marie, Sheena Easton, Brenda Russell, and Taylor Dayne to The Braxton Brothers, Chieli Minucci, Ronnie Laws, and George Howard. After putting his own musical interests on the backburner for many years, Suttles finally made a point to compose for and produce "Time To Suttledown", his long-overdue solo debut. On the project, Suttles really stretches out exhibiting several diverse aspects of his musicality. The project nonetheless, features Suttle's own signature blend of styles, from smooth and seductive, to funky and explosive!! On this project Jeff has assembled a stellar line-up of players for the recording of Time To Suttledown: Ronnie Garrett, Alex Al, Larry Kimpel and Warren McRae lay down the fat bass groves; the ever soulful Wali Ali works his magic on all of the guitar solos supported by guitarists Torrie “Freak Juice†Ruffin and Chris Claremont; the keyboard artistry of Patrice Rushen, Bill Steinway and Eddie “Killer†Miller who was also co-arranger with Jeff; the sizzling sax work of Andre Delano (courtesy of 7th Note Music and Donald Hayes who contributes the very sensual lead on the Taylor Dayne hit, I’ll Always Love You; Steve Backer, section leader and horn arranger on trombone; Raymond Monteiro on trumpet and the great Rafael Padilla on percussion and the legendary Ndugu Chancler lending the lyrical vibes on Time to Suttledown.
