’Scuse me, while I blurb this out!
For those of those not familiar with my powerfully ripped and toned body of work, let me immodestly declare myself to be one of the first writer/ artists in the American comics field to integrate the artistic and storytelling techniques of Japanese comics into my work. Yep, folks, I was definitely a manga-influenced pioneer (back in the wild-frontier days of the late 80s and early 90s), even going so far as to ride around in a covered wagon and fire my six-shooters in the air while bellowing “Yee-Haw,†pioneer-style! Okay, maybe I didn’t go that far.
If you wanna take a wee gander at my artwork, I've dumped a fair number of illustrations and comic pages over in the "My Pics" section. A far wider array of my work is a-lurking over on my deviantArt page , if you're interested.
Chief among my current projects, as my avatar image might hint to you, is the “sexy superhero comedy†comic Empowered , a book which I’m both writing and drawing for Dark Horse Comics. The first (248-page!) volume of this B&W epic of superheroic distress, low self-esteem, quasi-romantic humor and cheescakery aplenty ships on March 14th, incidentally.
I’m also the writer and layout artist for the six-issue Marvel Comics miniseries Iron Man : Hypervelocity , the first two issues of which should be On Comics-Store Shelves NOW! My other current job, BTW, is writing and drawing an “endpage†piece of Playstation-related humor for the videogame magazine PSM every month.
Back in the day, yo, I was prolly best known for one main project: namely, six miniseries worth of an idiosyncratic, future-shockalicious, original English-language comic based on Japanese SF author Haruka Takachiho's characters The Dirty Pair. (Hyperlink and "My Pics" sample images to follow, once I get around to updating this profile again...)
Either that, or I was known for writing and occasionally drawing a good many issues of Wildstorm's teen-superhero-team comic, Gen13. And, hey, let's not forget Scissors, Paper, Stone, my far-future take on DC’s popular Teen Titans! More recently, another Marvel project I wrote and laid out, Livewires, debuted to surprising critical acclaim... and equally (un)surprising low sales figures. Oh, well. (Again, hyperlinks to follow, eventually...)
