About Me

I was born in Jacksonville, FL where I lived most of my childhood. In 1981, I moved to South Florida. There I attended two gifted art programs from 1981 to 1983. My senior year, I moved back to Jacksonville where I received my diploma. I then moved on to Florida Junior College of Jacksonville and continued to pursue art. Two years later, I entered the University of Florida and in 1989, I received a Bachelors of Fine Art in painting. I have entered numerous shows over the past twenty-five years, a couple of them were one-person shows. Six years ago, I moved to Palm Coast, FL. In that time, I competed in six local shows and took first place twice. I also won honorable mention at the St. Augustine Art Association. In 2001, I began teaching both adults and children art and found the work most rewarding. I love teaching, but I have also found I love to write. Writing a novel came to me when I read all of Laurel K. Hamilton's books and found a void in my life when the books were over. So I decided to write my own book. It was an historical/paranormal fantasy with romantic elements and some erotic spice. In the late 1990's, I was nominated for "Who's Who in American Women" and I have been listed with them ever since. In 1997, I went to work for Themeworks, in High Springs, FL (very close to Gainesville, where I lived). With this company, I was able to work on Wonderworks (located on International Drive in Orlando). I was also the Art Director for the outside of the gift shop at Sea World's "Journey to Atlantis" (a water ride, themed to mimick the Theran/Minonan mythology and art of the islands in the Aegean Sea, very close to Greece). That was an amazing project! Pictures of that project and Wonderworks are included in my "pics". I left that job because I had to be home, closer to my family. They needed me. So I went into telemarketing. I did that for a few years then I went into teaching and finished all the classes needed to be a full-time public school teacher. And then my life took a turn. I moved to Tampa in August of 2006. I have a great job selling medical software to doctor's offices. Meanwhile, I had my first one-person show (in many years) at Sacred Grounds coffee shop in February. Thank you to all my myspace friends who came out and supported the event! Here, on Myspace, I am working to create a networking community of artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers, etcetera. If you wish to learn more about the up and coming talent (in the area local to Tampa, Fl or from around the world) please take a look at my "Friend's List".
