About Me

..
I left my clothes, jewelry, and toiletries in Africa. I came home with nothing...and everything.

My mission is to help people through my music. I'm not sure why I (of all people) was given this gift, but I hope I can significantly help someone with it. I am so blessed to have my family, my health, and my ability that I feel it is my obligation to give some of it to someone who doesn't have all of those things. I hope the the higher power guides me to achieve that goal.My favorite groove on stage is to set up blues tracks playing on my loop station and improv a solo riff on the guitar. I also like to loop my voice and layer melodies over my acoustic guitar and organic percussion rythms.

The guitars and instruments I play live are:
- Lee Oskar harmonicas
- Breedlove acoustic electric guitar
- Ovation celebrity acoustic electric
- Fender Stratocaster
- Various percussions
- Alesis SR16 drum machine

Like herding cats

You can hoard cats but you can't herd them. Animal services just left my step-grandmother's house. She's officially a bonafide cat hoarder to the tune of a $7,000 fine. They were able to capture 20 c...

Julie

Who is Julie? If you've seen one of my shows, you know who Julie is. Julie is an old friend of mine. I still run into her now and then. We've known each other since high school in Tampa. We ...

Assertive Yes, Asshole No

I am not a psychologist, but I feel compelled to write about this. I see so many women left behind in business because they do not assert themselves. Women struggle with being ass...

Cool places: Cheap in Hyde Park

The name is Cheap, which has nothing to do with the food, prices, service, or decor. Maybe that's the point. I stumbled upon Cheap while looking for my favorite little sushi restaurant, Soho...

The crash

It was a time for family celebration. Jan 13, the day was cloudy and the road was congested for a weekend. There was no football game, no baseball game. I remember looking out the windo...

The burn

I never forgave Terri for that crash. I can't understand how someone can choose drugs over family. Even after the crash he continued to snort coke, smoke weed, pop qualudes, get drunk, etc. The selfis...

Africa

I just came back from a Kenyan, Africa safari. Wow! It's amazing how time away from the United States gives one a new perspective on everything.
