I don't watch TV, but I dig Futurama, The Office, Arrested Development, and Battlestar Galactica. I am presently on a marathon run of the X-Files, all nine seasons, in order.
H.P. Lovecraft, F. Paul Wilson, Karl Edward Wagner, Robert Howard, Jack McDevitt, Joe McKinney, Philip Jose Farmer, Ian Banks, Larry Niven, Jim Butcher, George Martin, Charles Sheffield, Paul Russo, Umberto Eco, Richard Morgan, Brian Keene, Neal Asher, and others. I am a big fan of horror fiction and hard SF; strangely even though I love fantasy gaming, I only enjoy the older vintage fantasy works of Howard, Ashton Smith, C.L. Moore, Lieber, Carter, Moore, Moorcock and so forth. Been reading a lot of Lin Carter lately.
The authors Robert Howard and Phillip Jose Farmer. These two have profoundly impressed me with their fiction, and been greater sources of inspiration in my own writing than anyone else. Howard, not just for his Hyborian Conan mythos, but all of his fine works done in such a short time, and P.J. Farmer who is hands down the master of weird fantasy, and for whom I can never thank enough for The World of Tiers, Riverworld, and beyond.
