Azathoth is the Great Attractor

About Me

I'm a not-so-recent immigrant to New Mexico, an avid gamer (paper and pencil kind especially!), with a strong interest in archaeology and writing. I have a few published works under my belt, and am working on more. I've got a web site with free material for gaming at http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/ancientworlds.
In MMOs these days I am pretty much exclusively in to Age of Conan now. Look for Amilius or Sythinira on the Set server!
A partial bibliography of my recent published works:
Mongoose Publishing: Tales of the Black Kingdoms, Messantia Adventures Boxed Set Books 2 and 3
Outlaw Press: Aberdan's Folly and others
Zodiac Gods Publishing: Troll's Companion, Keepers of Lingusia, Realms of Chirak (imminently forthcoming)

..

My Interests

Role playing games, Mayan and Roman archaeology, Mesopotamian mythology, astronomy, new wave physics, horror writing, Star Wars, horror movies, H.P. Lovecraft and all things Cthulhu. On gaming: These days it's Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition, GURPS 4th, Call of Cthulhu & BRP, Runequest, the new Traveller, True20, Unknown Armies, Kult, Castles & Crusades and lots more....!

I'd like to meet:

I think I've met enough people for now, thanks! Come back next year.
No, seriously: all you have to be is interesting.

Music:

Juno Reactor, Banco de Gaia, Goldfrapp, Air, Synesthesia, Delerium, Hybrid, Zero7, all Jeremy Soule soundtracks, Euphoria, Orb, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Sombient, etc. etc.

Movies:

The Shorter Top 10 Films of All Time According to Me, Damnit! 1. Conan the Barbarian
2. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
5. John Carpenter's The Thing
6. Alien
7. Predator
8. Evil Dead II Dead by Dawn
9. Aliens
10. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

Television:

I don't watch TV, but I dig Futurama, The Office, Arrested Development, and Battlestar Galactica. I am presently on a marathon run of the X-Files, all nine seasons, in order.

Books:

H.P. Lovecraft, F. Paul Wilson, Karl Edward Wagner, Robert Howard, Jack McDevitt, Joe McKinney, Philip Jose Farmer, Ian Banks, Larry Niven, Jim Butcher, George Martin, Charles Sheffield, Paul Russo, Umberto Eco, Richard Morgan, Brian Keene, Neal Asher, and others. I am a big fan of horror fiction and hard SF; strangely even though I love fantasy gaming, I only enjoy the older vintage fantasy works of Howard, Ashton Smith, C.L. Moore, Lieber, Carter, Moore, Moorcock and so forth. Been reading a lot of Lin Carter lately.

Heroes:

The authors Robert Howard and Phillip Jose Farmer. These two have profoundly impressed me with their fiction, and been greater sources of inspiration in my own writing than anyone else. Howard, not just for his Hyborian Conan mythos, but all of his fine works done in such a short time, and P.J. Farmer who is hands down the master of weird fantasy, and for whom I can never thank enough for The World of Tiers, Riverworld, and beyond.
